About Pontiac's Alliance

Pontiac's Alliance is a modern film depicting the history and culture of Native American life from the past leading to modern-day realities. The film aims, through the wisdom and guidance passed down within Native American and indigenous tribes, to serve as a catalyst of understanding for the cultivation of indigenous values and concepts. In particular, their relationship to the planet. We would like audiences to walk away feeling informed on Native life then and now with a new approach to how we choose to co-create and exist together on the planet.

Director's Statement

Pontiac’s Alliance is bringing to viewers what Hollywood has been unable to successfully do for Native Americans and the general public. A great disfavor has been brought upon Native American Indigenous tribes demoting their sacred values and perspectives for a scar on their identity of which remains today. The history of cinema has a gap that needs to be filled and it spawns from our misunderstanding, aided by Hollywood, of the North American Native Indian. It is a powerful time to capture what was passed down from our ancestors. COVID has been relentlessly making its way through the country and Native populations across the Nation and especially with the elderly at risk, I also feel it is an urgent matter to interview as many subjects as possible. It is important that the world hears what they have to say as well as the rest of the subjects in order to understand their past, modern day life, and reflect on our own consideration into how we choose to relate to our planet in our own lives.
